Happiness, Peace
Bible study on happiness, peace.

Ps. 40:8

Happiness is doing the will of the Lord (cf. Ps. 128:1).

Pr. 16:20

Happiness is trusting in the Lord.

Pr. 29:18

Happiness is keeping God's law.

Pr. 3:13; Eph. 5:15-17

Happiness is finding godly wisdom and gaining understanding (cf. 1 Cor. 1:18-31; Jas. 3:13-18).

Matt. 5:3-12

Christians are blessed, happy. Unbelievers cannot have true happiness.

"Blessed" means happy. The Greek word (makarios) is translated "blessed" identifying the fact that Christians are happy because of God. This is the difference between a Christian's happiness and the worldly happiness of unbelievers.

Rom. 5:1-5

We have been justified by faith. We have peace with God through Jesus. We access God's grace through Jesus; therefore, we rejoice in hope and we glory in tribulations.

Jas. 1:2-8

We rejoice in trials knowing that the testing of our faith produces patience. We pray in faith for wisdom.

Rom. 8:28, 31-39

We are happy when we trust in God and see His hand working in our lives to turn every situation into something good.

Phil. 4:4-9, 13

We rejoice in the Lord, through prayer, through meditating on good, through obedience to the apostles.

We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Phil. 4:13; cf. Eph. 3:14-20).

1 Th. 5:16-22

We rejoice always because we pray all the time. We test all things and hold fast to good, abstaining from every form of evil.

We humbly cast our cares upon God. We resist the devil steadfastly in the faith (1 Pet. 5:6-10).

1 Tim. 6:8

We are content with food and clothing (cf. Matt. 6:24- 34; Heb. 13:5-6).

Jas. 5:13

We pray when we are suffering and we sing psalms when we are cheerful.
